Day Care Cleaning Supplies

March 22nd, 2010

It is important to keep day care centers clean at all times. Children have no idea about germs and bacteria. To them, they are fictional characters and are totally non-existent.

Since children do not have fully-developed immune systems, they can easily get sick. If there is a sick child in the day care center, there is a big potential for the spreading of germs to the other kids. It is therefore important to include cleaning agents and other necessities in your day care supplies list to keep the day care center sanitized, germ-free and safe for all the children.

Day care cleaning supplies include soaps and sanitizers. Children’s health always come first so it is important to keep those little hands clean especially before meal times. This way they don’t get to mix unwanted microbes into their food. It is also important to remind the children to wash or sanitize their hands after doing their art projects or after playing outdoors.
Moreover, day care cleaning supplies include multi-purpose cleaners, bleaches and sanitizing wipes. These are used to clean and disinfect toys, counter tops, food preparation areas, toilets, resting cots and so on. They are great for removing stains, too.

Daycare supplies such as brooms, mops and vacuum-cleaners will keep the floors clean while rags and feather dusters can keep tables, storage boxes and windows free from dust. One of the most important day care cleaning supplies are trash cans and bags. The day care should have proper segregation of wastes especially if there are babies and toddlers with diapers.

Using Activity Tables in Daycares

July 13th, 2009

Having activities in a daycare facility is very important. Children need to be kept busy and involved during their time at a facility. This is important because it helps to keep problems down and it helps to make the day flow smoother. One the best ways for teachers to utilize their activities is by using activity tables designed for each assignment. Each teacher should have enough tables in their classroom in order to have more than one activity going on at the same time if the situation calls for it. They could set up a arts and craft table, a table for reading, and a table for puzzles or silent play. Each area should be clearly designated for its purpose and the students should stick to the theme of the table. Having the activities positioned around the classroom is important as well. The harder projects should be near a part of the room that would make it easier to clean up. The activities that doesn’t require a lot of clean up time should be set up on tables that makes it convenient for the students to help put things away. Activity tables are important for any classroom and teachers need them to help utilize their lesson plans. Its very important that enough of them are in each classroom and that they are good working order. To sum it up, all teachers need to have plenty of things to do for their students and activity tables makes it easier to do so.
